Hi All,
I've recently started using Sonar, and it looks great so far. However, when I installed the update patch for 8.5.3, I found that I was no longer able to import audio into my tracks. whenever I try, I get an error message that simply says" "Out of memory", and has an OK button. This is quite literally all there is in the dialogue. Nothing about why this error might be happening, or how to fix it. Like I said, it didn't happen until i installed the patch, and none of the usual trouble shooting suggestions seem to fix it. I.E. restarting the program, closing all other open windows, restarting the computer, re-installing, ETC. Someone suggested I try creating a project with a blank template and importing audio from there. Unfortunately, this didn't fix the issue either. Does anyone know how I might go about fixing this? Even some reasons this error could be occuring in general would be a step in the right direction at this point. Thanks.
I've been using Sonar 7 for some time and what you say doesn't make me want to go to 8. :) Well, I'm no wiz at the backend of Cakewalk, but it sounds like maybe switching audio driver can be something to test. i.e Asio to WDM or vice versa. Compatibility with sound card, buffer settings... I know I'm not to much help. It's odd that a patch would do that. Sounds like Cakewalk goofed on the update. If you can figure out what that patch is actually supposed to be doing, it might point you to something useful.
Well, 8.5.1 doesn't have this issue, but it does have some compatibility issues with JSonar, which is why I upgraded in the first place. If the issue is really something to do with the template, I wonder if there's a way I can scrap the normal template altogether. Perhaps that might help.
